Beyond Organic:

Our USDA Certified Organic Black Turtle Beans are 100% non-GMO and grown in certified organic soils using regenerative farming practices. These small, glossy black beans are a versatile and hearty pantry staple, perfect for various dishes from soups and salads to tacos, dips, nachos, and other Tex-Mex or Latin American recipes.

Origin:

Proudly grown in Wisconsin, USA, on our sixth-generation organic family farm. Thank you for supporting American farmers and independent family-owned agriculture.

Versatile & Hearty:

Black Turtle Beans are a delicious addition to countless meals. Pre-cook and refrigerate them to quickly incorporate into soups, salads, tacos, nachos, or dips. Their rich, earthy flavor enhances both simple and complex dishes.

Why Choose Dried Beans?

Canned Beans:

15 oz cans = 10 oz drained beans. Often contain BPA, added sodium, sugar, and preservatives.

Dried Beans:

1 lb = ~3 lbs cooked beans. They have a fresher taste, better value, longer shelf life, and no additives or BPA.

Basic Cooking Instructions:

  1. Rinse and sort thoroughly.
  2. Soak beans for 8+ hours (overnight is best) and drain.
  3. Boil beans in 8+ cups of fresh water for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 90-120 minutes, or finish cooking in a slow cooker or Instant Pot.

Note:

Always cook beans thoroughly. Undercooked beans may contain naturally occurring plant lectins. While we strive for quality, occasional small debris may remain despite rigorous inspections.
