Beyond Organic:

Great Northern Beans, known for their flat kidney shape and mild, delicate flavor, are grown in certified organic soils using regenerative farming practices. These medium-sized beans readily absorb the flavors of other ingredients, making them a versatile choice for various dishes. They are perfect for baked beans, soups, sides, salads, or classic French cassoulet. A recipe idea? Sage-roasted pork tenderloin paired with these flavorful beans.

Origin:

Proudly grown in Wisconsin, USA, on our sixth-generation organic family farm. Your support helps sustain American farmers and independent family-owned agriculture.

Why Choose Dried Beans?

Canned Beans:

15 oz cans = 10 oz drained beans. Often contain BPA, added sodium, sugar, preservatives, and heavy metals.

Dried Beans:

1 lb = ~3 lbs cooked beans. Dried beans are more economical, have a fresher taste, have a longer shelf life, and do not contain additives or BPA.

Basic Cooking Instructions:

  1. Rinse and sort thoroughly.
  2. Soak beans for 8+ hours (overnight is best). Replace soaking water 2-3 times for best results.
  3. Boil beans in 8+ cups of fresh water for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 90-120 minutes, or finish cooking in a slow cooker or Instant Pot.

Note:

Always cook beans thoroughly. Undercooked beans may contain naturally occurring plant lectins. While we aim for perfection, occasional small debris may remain despite rigorous inspections.
